Kalahari – Fish River Canyon – Namib Desert – Etosha National Park
Day 1: Windhoek – Arrival
Upon your arrival at the Windhoek International Airport you will be met and transferred into town for the handover of your rental vehicle.
Accommodation in Hotel Thule situated on top of a mountain, offers a stunning view over the Klein Windhoek Valley.
The modern rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished. The restaurant offers delicious meals which can be enjoyed with the beautiful view. A swimming pool and the terrace invite you to relax and unwind.
Windhoek with a population of about 350 000 is located in the central Khomas region and is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Namibia. The hot springs attracted the first settlers to this area. In 1890 Windhoek was founded by the German settlers and Kurt von Francois. Businesses were erected on Kaiser Street, present Independence Avenue, and along the dominant mountain ridge over the city, including the three eye-catching castles.
Day 2: Windhoek – Kalahari
Depart to the south of Namibia via Rehoboth to Kalahari Farmhouse, situated on the fringes of the Kalahari Desert. In the fertile Auob Valley near Stampriet the Kalahari Farmhouse offers rural ambiance with up-market hospitality.
The restaurant and reception are in the old and carefully restored farm house, whilst accommodation is offered in modern bungalows in Cape Dutch style.
From the farm next door fresh produce is delivered to the farmhouse, which is used in the delicious meals served.
Activities on offer are scenic drive on the nearby Gondwana Kalahari Park, a visit to the farming business or just relax around the pool.
Day 3: Kalahari – Fish River Canyon
Proceed to the Fish River Canyon, a most spectacular geological phenomena, situated in the lower reaches of Namibia’s longest river, the Fish.
Overnight at the Canyon Roadhouse, situated close to the entrance of the Fish River National Park. The Roadhouse offers accommodation in tastefully furnished en-suite rooms, a romantic a la cart restaurant, the fully licensed “Wheels Bar”, a sparkling swimming pool and a well equipped service station.
Day 5: Fish River Canyon – Diamond Restricted Area – Lüderitz
Proceed through the Restricted Diamond Area to Lüderitz, Namibia’s most southern harbour.
Kairos Cottage Bed and Breakfast is situated on Shark Island, a peninsula, overlooking the bay and the sea. The rooms are beautifully furnished and offer spectacular sea views.
Day 6: Lüderitz – Aus
A visit to the old and deserted diamond town Kolmanskop is very interesting (optional). Drive through the Restricted Diamond Area to Aus to overnight in the Klein Aus Vista Lodge.
The en-suite chalets are built around gigantic granite boulders, each with own lounge and fireplace, private verandah and endless views over the Namib. The lodge offers optional activities in the area.

Day 7: Aus – Sesriem
Proceed along the edge of the Namib Desert. The endless vistas with their contrasting colours will fascinate you.
The Hoodia Desert Lodge is ideally located close to the Sesriem entrance to the Namib Naukluft Park. Accommodation is in tastefully decorated bungalows with all modern amenities. From the private porch of the bungalow you can enjoy the peacefulness of the surrounding desert.
Delicious meals are served on the terrace of the main building with the endless vistas of the Namib Desert as a back-drop.
Various optional activities are offered by the lodge, which are not included in our price.

Day 8: Sossusvlei
An early rise is rewarded with the beauty of the sunrise over the dunes around the Sossusvlei. The lodge offers optional guided tours to the Sossusvlei, or you can drive there with your own vehicle, making use of the 4×4 shuttle service for the last 5km through the challenging dune sand.
Visit the Sesriem Canyon, a narrow gorge in the Tsauchab River.

Day 9: Namib Desert – Kuiseb Canyon – Namib Naukluft Park – Swakopmund
Proceed through the Kuiseb Canyon and the Namib Naukluft Park to Walvis Bay and Swakopmund.
The Central Guesthouse is centrally situated, with good restaurants and the shops are within walking distance. The rooms are cozy and stylish furnished with attention to details. Relax on the terrace or around the fire place in the guesthouse.
Day 10: Swakopmund
Swakopmund is a charming town with many historic buildings and a strong German influence. Various activities are offered in and around the town. Let us advise you of the different options. Small coffee shops invite you to sample a good cup of coffee or tea and tasty cakes. Enjoy a visit to the museum and aquarium.
Day 11: Swakopmund – Twyfelfontein – Damaraland
An early start will take you along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean towards the holiday resort of Henties Bay. Continue through the Namib Desert past the Brandberg Mountain to Twyfelfontein (meaning doubtful fountain), where you will find many rock engravings left by stone-age artists.
Situated close to Twyfelfontein and other attractions in this area, Camp Kipwe offers comfortable accommodation beautifully integrated into rocks. Enjoy the unsurpassed vistas of this area from the restaurant, lounge and a hilltop behind the camp.
Day 12: Twyfelfontein – Huab River
Visit the rock engravings, the Burnt Mountain and the Petrified Forest before you proceed via Khorixas to the Huab Lodge, set on the banks of the ephemeral Huab River.
The spacious bungalows are tastefully and practically furnished all with a private patio.
Delicious meals are served in the large dining area overlooking the river bed, where the desert adapted elephants roam freely.
Activities include expertly guided bush walks and scenic nature drives in open vehicles.
Day 13: Huab River
Enjoy the guided activities in this area offered by the lodge. Encounter kudus, oryx, mountain zebras, klip-springers and the desert adapted elephants, as well as many bird species in the river bed and the mopane woodlands.
Day 14: Huab River – Etosha National Park
Travel via Outjo to the western entrance of the Etosha National Park to the Guestfarm “Vreugde”.
Comfortable and carefully decorated rooms look out onto a tranquil and shady garden.
Home-cooked meals are served either in the farm house or in the garden, while your hosts pamper you.
Day 15: Etosha National Park
Game viewing in the Etosha National Park on well maintained and marked roads. Encounter big herds of zebra, wildebeest and springbuck on the open plains. The shy kudu and giraffes prefer the acacia woodlands.
The waterholes offer rewarding sightings of elephant and the various antelopes.
Ideally situated close to the eastern entrance to the park you will find the Mushara Lodge.
Under shady trees the lodge offers a comfortable and cozy lounge, a big terrace and a restaurant. Spacious and smartly furnished rooms surround a big sparkling pool.
Day 16: Etosha National Park
Enjoy another day of game viewing in the park, which is one of the largest game parks in Africa, with 22 912km². The park owes its unique landscape to the Etosha Pan, a vast shallow depression of approximately 5 000km². A series of waterholes along the southern edge of the pan guarantees spectacular game viewing. Several of the 114 mammal species found in the park are rare and/or endangered, including the black rhino and black-faced impala. Over 340 bird species have been recorded in the park.
Day 17: Etosha National Park – Waterberg
Drive through the Otavi Mountains to the northeastern side of the Waterberg Mountain to the Frans Indongo Lodge.
The lodge is tastefully decorated with attention to details in the main building as well as in the en-suite rooms. Here you can relax, enjoy excellent cuisine, have a sundowner drink at the big deck overlooking open grass plains, contrasting vividly with the read sandstone of the Waterberg in the distance
Optional game drives are offered on the farm.

Day 18: Waterberg – Windhoek
Proceed via Otjiwarongo and Okahandja to Windhoek.
Okahandja played an important role in the history of the country.
Day 19: Windhoek – Departure
Return your rental car and transfer to the airport in time for your departure flight.
