| Day 1: Arrival in Namibia - Windhoek |
|
On your arrival at the Hosea Kutako International Airport you will be met for your private transfer to Windhoek.
Windhoek is a small but bustling city with a population of approximately 300 000, often described as a city with a “continental” atmosphere. This can be ascribed to its architecture - historical buildings dating back to German colonial rule - as well as to its cuisine, culture, dress and educational institutions. At the same time Windhoek has the colour, sounds and tempo of a modern African city.
Hotel Pension Thule is situated on top of a hill, with a wonderful view of the Auas Mountains and valleys. It features 21 modern and luxuriously furnished rooms all with TV, a safe and a percolator. From the a la carte restaurant you have a beautiful view over the Auas Mountains. A swimming pool offers refreshment from the African heat, and from the Lapa you can marvel at the enchanting African sunset.
A guided city tour of Windhoek is included.

Day 2: Windhoek – Sossusvlei – Swakopmund
|
|
Early morning transfer to the Eros Airport where you will meet your pilot that will accompany you through-out your fly-in safari in Namibia.
Your first destination is the Sossusvlei, the Dead Vlei and the Sesriem Canyon.
The Sossusvlei is a clay pan surrounded by star-shaped dunes, reaching a height of 325m, the highest in the world.
Visit the Sesriem Canyon, where centuries of erosion have incised a narrow gorge about 1km in length. At the foot of the gorge, which plunges down 30m to 40m, are pools that become replenished after good rains. Sesriem derives its name form the time when early pioneers tied six lengths of rawhide thongs together to draw water from the pools.
Enjoy a good lunch before you fly to Swakopmund. Weather permitting your flight takes you over the dunes and the southern parts of the Skeleton Coast. Here you can see ship wrecks and remains of old diamond mines.
Swakopmund is a popular seaside resort because of its old-world charm and relaxed atmosphere. Lush green lawns, palm trees and public gardens enhance this quaint desert town, hedged by the desert and the sea.
The Hansa Hotel offers a relaxed, but personal approach to service. Each of the fifty superbly furnished twin/double rooms and five suits are individually decorated. The restaurant is renowned for seafood and game specialties and also offers a unique wine list.

Consisting of saline desert, savannah and woodlands, its definitive feature is the Etosha Pan, a vast, shallow depression of approximately 5 000 km˛. For the greater part of the year the pan is a bleak expanse of white, cracked mud which, on most days shimmers with mirages. In local colloquial language the pan is referred to as the “great white place of dry water”.
