| Day 1: Windhoek - Arrival |
|
|
On your arrival at the Windhoek International Airport you will be met and transferred into town for the handover of your rental vehicle.
Overnight at the Pension Palmquell, an oasis in Windhoek, offering first class accommodation, safe parking, a big tepid swimming pool and sauna. All rooms have their own bath/WC, air conditioning, floor heating, satellite TV, telephone, mini bar and wall safe.

Day 2: Windhoek - Namib Desert
|
|
Depart on your tour through the rolling hills of the Khomashochland Mountains into the Namib Desert.
The Desert Homestead is situated in the proximity of Sossusvlei and the Naukluft Mountains.
The rustic bungalows blend in beautifully into the surrounding landscape. Each of the 20 chalets has en-suite
facilities and enormous windows offering exceptional view of the grasslands and distant Nubib Mountains.
Optional activities are offered by the lodge to fill the afternoon.

Day 3: Sossusvlei - Namib Desert
|
|
Get up early in the morning to experience the beauty of the sunrise over the dunes around the Sossusvlei.
On request we can book an optional guided tour into the Sossusvlei for you.
Continue to the Barchan Dunes Retreat close to the "Rantberge" Mountains.
The en-suite chalets are tastefully furnished and offer a breathtaking view into the valley.
Spend a relaxing afternoon at the lodge and indulge in a tasty home-cooked dinner.

Day 4: Namib Desert Kuiseb Canyon - Namib Naukluft Park - Swakopmund
|

Enjoy a relaxing breakfast before you proceed through the Kuiseb Canyon and the Namib Naukluft Park to Walvis Bay and Swakopmund.
The Hotel Eberwein is a historic building (1910) retaining all of its original charm. The en-suite rooms are tastefully decorated and well equipped with TV, telephone, hair dryer, coffee machine, a mini bar and central heating.
Good restaurants are within walking distance of the hotel.

Day 5: Swakopmund - Walvis Bay
|
|
Drive to Walvis Bay for a morning marine cruise through the harbor and lagoon. Seals and dolphins playfully accompany the boat.
Swakopmund is a charming town with a strong German influence and old buildings.
Many different activities are offered in and around Swakopmund. Let us advise you of the different options.
Small coffee shops invite you to sample a good cup of coffee or tea and tasty cakes. Enjoy a visit to the museum and aquarium.

Day 6: Swakopmund - Twyfelfontein - Damaraland
|
|
An early start in the morning will take you along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean towards the holiday resort of Henties Bay. Continue through the Namib Desert past the Brandberg Mountain to Twyfelfontein (meaning doubtful fountain). Here you will find many rock engravings left by stone-age artists.
Nestled against a small hill overlooking ancient plains and the typical table top escarpment is Doro !Nawas. The unique lodge design allows for unspoilt panoramic view of this diverse and dramatic landscape that varies from table top mountains to dry river beds.

Day 7: Twyfelfontein Etendeka - Grootberg
|

Today you travel to the Grootberg Lodge, perched on the rim of the Etendeka Plateau. The Grootberg Lodge stands sentinel over the Klip River Valley, where black eagles hunt just below the level of the private deck.
12 000 hectares have been set aside by the Koadi//Hoas community for conservation and tourism and it is through this pristine wilderness that you meander either on foot or by car to encounter the inhabitants of this remote biosphere

Day 8: Grootberg - Himba
|
|
Spend the day at Grootberg Lodge and go on a guided tour to a Himba village. The Himba, an ancient tribe of semi-nomadic
pastoralists, still live and dress to ancient traditions. The Himba live in scattered settlements throughout the Kunene region and when taking a guided trip to some of these villages, you have the chance to meet these people and to learn much about their way of live, their traditions and customs.

Day 9: Grootberg Etosha National Park
|
|
Proceed via Kamanjab to the Etosha Safari Camp, set on the hill of the Ondundozonananandana mountain range. The spacious safari bungalows offer a warm safari ambience, decorated with artistically painted floors and metal furniture created by local Namibian craftsmen. Meals are served in a rustic restaurant. Near the main building guests can relax at the swimming pool or make use of the internet cafι.

Day 10: Etosha National Park
|
|
Enjoy game viewing on drives in the park on roads, well maintained and marked.
Located on the eastern boundary of the Etosha National Park, close to the Von Lindequist entrance gate you will find the Mushara Lodge ideally situated for travelers visiting the park. The thatched main lodge consists of a small library, a bar with an extensive wine cellar, airy lounge with welcoming fireplace for chilly winter evenings, dining area and well stocked curio shop. A feature of Mushara Lodge is the large, tiled, bright blue swimming pool.

Day 11: Etosha National Park
|
|
Enjoy this day with game viewing in the park. Proceed to the Etosha National Park, which is one of the largest game parks in Africa. The park owes its unique landscape to the Etosha Pan, a vast shallow depression of approximately 5 000km². A series of waterholes along the southern edge of the pan guarantees rewarding and often spectacular game viewing. Several of the 114 mammal species found in the park are rare and/or endangered, including the black rhino and black-faced impala. Over 340 bird species have been recorded in the park.

Day 12: Etosha National Park - Waterberg
|
|
Drive through the Otavi Mountains towards the Waterberg; to the Aloe Grove Lodge.
Accommodation is offered in 5 comfortable rooms on a hill, each with an unspoiled view over the valley towards the Waterberg Mountains.
Optional guided game drives and a lion-, cheetah- and leopard feed are offered.
